A pinch, a punch for the first of the month, and no returns! hahahaha! do you do that in your country? or have I just confused you lol!
It's the first of July, which means new things are happening at DSO... apart from all the wonderful July challenges for you to join in on we are having a Store CT and Designer call!
what's a store Ct? well this is where you get the chance to play with more than one designers beautiful kits! you get to play with them all. Lynn is going to look after the CT, she has been with DSO for a few years now and is such a friendly person, you will enjoy working with her! We are such a friendly family group, you will have no problems joining in!
Secondly.. We are also having a designer call! As I have already said... we are a family, we get on, we giggle and we chat.. oh yeah! we work occasionally lol!

I have a new challenge, which I started last month... we all love animals right! well now's the time to scrap them! this month there's a twist to the challenge, and when you have completed, you get this cute lttle posting bonus!

The New, The Old and The Knackered!

Saturday we went to Leeds which is about 65 miles away from where we live in Derbyshire, we went to an open day at the University my son is going to attend.
First we parked outside Matt and Leyla’s apartment which is still being built. It will be all pristine and new and the accommodation will include internet access, washing machine, kitchen, private bathroom all included in one price... For student digs it is definitely luxury!

We had a tour around the department where Matt will receiving his education and after that we just walked around the old and more traditional parts of the University.

I fell in love with the library, it was so beautiful with it’s art deco lighting and old wood and it was bought bang up to date with it’s modern technology of computers without spoiling the traditional areas of the room.

We enjoyed an al fresco lunch and went to the students bar for a drink.

We even met old university friends of Pete’s, who too were looking around the university! It was a surprise to see them there.

We had a most enjoyable day and then before we take to driving home, we discovered Pete’s car has a minor fuel leak! Damn… it was Saturday night and we needed to get home as DD was all on her lonesome!
We had to have the car towed away to a garage where it stayed for the weekend, and I believe sometime today it will be arriving at a local garage to get fixed. I dread to think how much that is going to cost!
And to top it all we had to hire a taxi to get us home… ahh well, I promise you it did not spoil our day.

A special night out! and grab a bargain!

Before I start showing you some pretty pictures of my daughters 'prom' night I just want to draw your attention to these fantastic stars and stripes patterned papers Kim has in store today.. and the best thing is, they are a doddle to colour as she not only has them in psd file but also in separate png, so you can change the patterns if you want to! you'll find them here




When our children come to the end of their schooling days and before they go off to college or 6th form, it is traditional for our school to hold a special evening called Record of Achievement. All parents whose children have finished year 11 are invited to a momentous and sometimes emotional evening where they see their child being presented with their ROA book and the Head and Teachers say wonderful things...

This is a chance for them all to dress up in cocktail/evening dress or ball gowns and just look totally stunning and grown up!
All the girls just look so beautiful, I had a fine time with the camera, I'm hoping to make DD an album to remember the occasion.

After the presentation the kids go off either on a coach, or in a limousine or a posh sports car to wine and dine together and party!

and then arrive home at midnight full of party spirit.... except my girl went on to another party!

Numb Bum!

Yep! that is what I have lol! So I am writing this sitting sideways, with an extra cushion, hehehe!I went cycling last night, the first time in about 7 years.. DH got my bike out of the attic last night, we had to oil the breaks and gears. fix the back brake as it was not working very well.
We live on a hill and we were going upwards too, I did not want to embarrass myself so I walked past all the neighbours houses before I got on it. It wasn't long before I was puffing and panting and the top of my legs were killing me. Oh gosh! I did not realise how unfit I was. Being as I walk the route enough times, I did not thing it was going to be that hard, but it was.
Now coming back home.. well that's a different story.. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I was whizzing down the hill, and then I realised my back brake stopped working! Waahaahaa! and my front brake was a bit stiff, with a loud enough squeak to set of all the neighbourhoods dogs barking.. can you imagine what was going through my head! I was thinking..'what if my front brake packs up!'
So I have decided to book my bike in for a service, better safe than sorry!

Extractions!

Well, I don't know where Charlie finds the time, I honestly don't! but she is offering a new service. Extracting can be a PITA! especially if you have a million and one other things to do, and also to do them well is time consuming too.
