The Bar Room and a Happy New Year!

I'm taking a leaf out of Mrs Miles and Bunny's books and giving you a show and tell today!

We have quite an old house with a cellar and attic too.. today I am showing you the bar room! Pete, my DH likes to collect a lot of bar and steam train memorabilia, and does his best to keep it in one room! his room, which is the bar room.
photo trims are Bunny's cu version.
This door with the old mirror which Pete picked up at a breweriana auction is situated in our dining room and leads into a quaint Old English style bar! which also doubles as the office!

We have a real log fire, perfect for those winter days for warming hands, toes and bums lol! in the centre of the fireplace, you will notice an oval shaped thing which probably looks like a lump of wood to you.. it is in fact a vertebrae from a giant prehistoric mammoth which Pete found on a beach near Cromer in the East of England.. I have never seen someone so excited as he, when he stumbled upon it, he cleaned it up and we went to Cromer Museum to check if it was what we thought. In the foyer there was a mammoth replica, a very common beast to roam England in prehistoric times (600,000 years ago) as our country was joined onto the continent and was sub tropical! And yes they verified our find.

Here are our working hand pumps, of which the pipes lead down to the cellar and when we have a party, the pipes are fixed to large barrels of beer! which we either buy from a local brewery or maybe, if Pete has time to spare, will make a brew himself. At the back of the bar is an old bookcase filled with books on Brewing, nature, photography and trains. On top of the bookcase are lots of silly nicknack's which are a pain to lift when the dusting has to get done!

Here are a selection of liqueurs we have made by collecting fruits from our local hedgerows, this year we made a blackberry liqueur. My favourite is sloe gin.

This is a selection of shed plates which Pete collected when he was a young lad back in the days of steam! My oh my,he's getting on in age haahaa!

Last of all, is the Bar Billiards table which gives us easy entertainment when we have friends round. not the bestgame for me to play, I always seem to lose lol!

On the 1st of January it will be my first year of blogging.. and I would like to thank all of you who,not only come over to pick up the freebies but also take time to read my blog.To celebrate my first year I have done this 'Happy New Year' kit for you..

Big Sale and wishing you a Merry Christmas

We have finally finished DD's bedroom! it has taken forever and a day! I have taken a few pics to show you.. we still have little bits to do, like things to hang on the wall and ironing the bedding etc.. oooh yes and adding one daughter too! hope she can keep it looking as good as this lol!

I am going to make some beaded tiebacks for these curtains, and buy a nice set of prints to hang above the bed head.....

I love this wallpaper although it was a real pain to put up as we had to go around the chimney breast! and the walls are not level lol!

Brand new flat screen television too! And trendy mirrors!

I love this beaded light shade.. being a bit of a bead freak heehee!

and also a computer desk, still have to build the chair!

STOP PRESS.......Kim's got a sale..... A big one too! everything 50% off, inc commercial use products! Well worth taking advantage of and maybe giving someone a Christmas gift with a difference!

And of course Glam Tidings is in the sale..... which I have used to make you a little candy topper.

I have used this topper not as a candy bag topper but as a different way of presenting little gifts! cool idea I thought :)

Handbag Tagger for you to make!

Yay! I managed to decorate the tree last night! it's been standing bare in the living room for the last two nights! anyway.. here's a layout to show you my tree.. It stands six foot tall and my decorations are coloured gold, copper and cream, about half of the decorations on this tree are handmade by me.... another little hobby of mine lol!
kit used for this is
Glam Tidings by Kim B

Are you wanting a little project to do? I've got one here for ya!
This is a little Handbag tagger, you can attach it to your bag or just keep it inside ready to brag to your friends! The tags are only 3 inch by 2 inch approx, so you can print them all on just a couple of papers, but don't forget to print a matching paper on the reverse side if you don't want the back of your tag to be white! the paper I used is a matte coated inkjet paper, which I also laminated to make it more hard wearing.

Kit used
Time Anew by Kim B, this kit is Stunning as Kim's kits always are! the amazing thing about this kit is I have seen layouts featuring wedding pics and children, as well as the party scenes! and it goes with everything! what more could you ask for from a kit.

Laminaters are relatively cheap to buy these days, I use it in so many projects, including albums. because of this, it doesn't matter who handles the album (I'm thinking little children here) you know it won't get messed up!

This little tag set I have made for a friends Christmas present, every other year we go to theirs for our New years entertainment.. and I thought it would be quite a different and special little gifty :)

In the download I have also included the 3 tags with the Auld Land Sine verses in jpg form for you.
Click on the above preview to download... and remember to leave a little love if you snag :)

Time to Play!

It has been a hectic weekend, what with DH and the pooch going off to Cromford with our dear friends, to dig up our Christmas Trees, an annual tradition which sadly I missed this year due to too many things going on! Anyway he bought a very handsome tree home, which originally I thought was too small, as we always have an enormous one where we normally have to cut a foot or two off the top. when we got the tree inside I realised it was of a generous size!

I received a very unique gift from the very beautiful and kind Mrs Miles. My own personal snowflake, named after me! how cool is that! that is very special to me.. and Barb, I'd like to thank you dear friend for your kindness and generosity. :)) (big grin here!)
I have made a layout with it here to show you, and along with the snowflake, I have added a poem which she also sent... I have used my Winter Wonderland (CATW) freebie, for this page.
Pop over to Mrs Mile's blog as she has a beautiful matching page to share with you :)

Can't believe it... but somehow I found time to join our Kim on her colour challenge over at DSO... and that is what I am sharing with you today....
just click on the preview to download... oooh yeah! whilst I'm here can I just say a BIG THANK YOU to all the lovely note of thanks for my CATW give away... it certainly cheers me up when I get those!

A New Look, A Gift Bag and Christmas Around the World

Do you like my new look! Many thanks to Allie Brown for this :) she played around with my 'Pink Poodle' kit. and I just LOVE it! I did the header to go with the background. I can't believe that there is anyone out there in digi land that doesn't know her, but if you don't..POP over to her blog and grab yourself a new look for your blog... She's awesome and she has instructions to help you re-vamp your blog too!

Do you like my little gift bag I made last night! I wanted to give you a tutorial on it!!! but the template I found for it isn't quite right and I need to play around with it before I can give you a bag to make! Won't be able to get round to doing this before Christmas though... so I reckon a nice Valentines bag will be in order in the New Year!

I made the bag from KimB's Glam Tidings and glitzed up the bag with glitter, gems and a pretty piece of organza ribbon

Christmas Around The World is HERE! WooHoo! This is the big one lol! and FishinMom has had quite a massive job on with this event.. there are so many participants

A Tough Weekend!

As you know, we are decorating our daughters bedroom, and things never go to plan do they! Friday we had a beautiful creamy beige carpet fitted and Saturday we found a leak in the brand new radiator we had installed! OH MY.. a little black mark on the carpet already. Our next door neighbour as it happens is a plumber and he came to our rescue! We have had to remove the radiator as it has a fault.. now we have to order another one :) Oh the joys of decorating especially before Christmas lol!

Anyway in the midst of all this I still found time to wrap up a few Christmas presents and prepare a few goody bags for the little uns'
I made these Candy toppers using Kim B's From Santa with Love and also added Melanie Ann's beaded alpha.. they turned out pretty cute!

Friday, my daughter Catherine got me to make a 16th birthday card for a friend, plus a little scrap book album! where do I find the time. She had her first alcohol induced party that evening.... but I won't go there lol!

I made this card using Kim's Lovable kit and I made a curved pocket on the front to add a 16th birthday tag.. on the curved edge I went a little bit flamboyant with the organza ribbon...all Cat's friends loved it.This term year, all Cat's friends turn 16 and I'm thinking I will be making a lot of cards!

Today the freebie I have for you are these adorable Candy Toppers, this is what one looks like, even the back is prettied up with the star doodled paper, I have also added three stars if you want to cut them out and add a little dimension. I added foam stars on mine. I used glossy photo paper, folded in half and stapled to the bag which incidentally are cellophane card bags.

I do hope you find a use for them :)

It's nice to get on the computer for a bit, well it would be if my Internet wasn't on a go slow! grrrr. As at the moment I seem to just have a paint brush in my hand! We are decorating our daughters bedroom. We have finished painting and wallpapering now and on Friday we are having the carpet fitted, it's cream and I'm dreading what it will look like in a few months, you know what teenagers are like! DD and I are off to Ikea this evening to pick up new bedroom furniture and computer desk and chair, well all but the bed really as that is already ordered, we are having to wait another week for that!

Just a few things to show you today, starting with another very quick to make card...

This one I made using Mrs Miles's scenic paper from her 'worship the king mini' it was up for grabs last week, if you pop over it might still be there! I had to work on the paper to hide Mary and the donkey as I just wanted the Kings and then I added the star (covered in glamour dust to give it a shine) by mounting with 3D foam.

My darling Maryse has done another LO for me, this time using my 'a traditional Christmas' kit.

Doesn't her daughter look so cute in that outfit lol!

Now I want to show you these amazing donations for the 'friends4food' blog. Bunny is doing an amazing job there, please take a little time to pop over there and see what you can win by doing something wonderful this Christmas.

Monique and Shannon have donated all these wonderful crafty treats! Looks great to me!

Oooh! just remembered, did you notice! I have added a chat box, feel free to leave little messages as long as they are nice lol!
Now onto the freebie for today, this darling little post is in png format and you can write whatever you want on it!

Click on the preview to download and please if you do snag a little thanks goes a long long way!

I'm like the cat that got the cream!

Phew, where do I start! I have just become part of KimB's CT Team... "WooHoo" did you hear me sceam lol! how excited am I to be part of one of the craziest teams in scrap land... Thanks Kim, I feel very honoured and privileged,, BIG HUGS GF! I will be doing a show and tell on hybrid ideas, with all of Kim's beautiful designs. I'm so pleased with that because I just love combining digi scrap with other crafts!

This weekend just gone I started wrapping little Christmas gifts and decided to do matching boxes and tags to go with the snowman card I made 2 blog posts ago!

Do you like this cute little gift box, Made with Kim's 'From Santa with Love' and I also used Bunny's Memory Box Template for this.

along with Jazzy's Christmas word art!

And here I made some Christmas wrapping, by reducing the snowman paper and duplicating it 3 times more and then merging, this gave me the snowman paper on a smaller scale, perfect for wrapping extra special little pressies! and I made a matching tag too!

Anyone recognise their name on the tag lol!

To celebrate being part of Kim's team, I am giving you a chance to make this card, and I tell ya, it couldn't be more easier or quicker. just print onto a quality glossy photo paper, you can either cut it out as an instant card or like me cut out the bauble scene and layer onto a ready folded blank card, then cut out the extra baubles and using mounting foam place on top of card to give a raised effect. you can also add a brad in the bottom right hand corner!

this card is so quick to doand couldn't be more effective! I have made quite a few for quickie cards lol!

click on preview to download.
Go take a look at Vana's blog, she has done her first hybrid using my snowman card! way to go... I love the way you have done your bow Vana :)

And look at this cute little award I have received!! I'm really touched.
Thank you Maryse and Cat, I feel blessed to be in such a wonderful scrapping community :)
When I find a little more blogging time, I will give out my nominations for this award!

nearly done lol! phew! I'm gonna get myself a cup of coffee in a mo! I need it after this lot. my fingers are getting tired, I'm such a crap typist!

I have an add on for you, it goes with the kit I put up yesterday. there is also a QP included.
again click on preview to download.

That's it folks... please if you love what you are snagging, leave a little lovin!
